Another mystery...

In my previous cars I have always had a spare wheel + jack and wheel brace but always carried a 2' breaker bar and a combined 17mm/19mm socket in case the last time the wheels were off the 'fitter', (and I use the term very loosely) was over zealous with the pneumatic gun and as we all know you usually get a puncture on wet dark nights in the middle of nowhere! I have tried both sizes of socket on my J10 (18" Onyx alloys) and the don't fit on the wheel nuts. Will the factory OEM wheel brace fit the wheel nuts which are dome headed dark chrome finish? I have ordered a genuine wheel brace & jack from that well known internet auction site and am now looking for a reasonably priced spacesaver spare wheel, if there is such a thing!

Are there not plastic covers on the nuts?
You have to pull them off first. There are black ones on my tekna(j11) b. They'll definitely be metric though

Mystery solved....the jack and wheel brace I ordered off ebay arrived today and guess what - the wheel nuts on my Qashqai are 21mm....

My car is Ntec+ spec and is fitted with 18" Onyx alloys which probably explains the type and size of wheel nuts......

Collywooble, I must admit I am confused I always thought that Nissan had Std Bolt Sizes of 17mm A/F . Also exactly what Fujikun mentioned I also thought was the problem the Black or Chrome Plastic Cap which has a Dim’n of 20mm A/F & 22,50mm A/F see pic. I did not think that different Wheel Makes changed the Bolt Dimensions as I also have different Alloys but with exactly the same Wheel Bolt Dimensions.
I have had these Caps on both our QQ’s J11A & J11B. As you have a J10 model perhaps you could paste a pic so we can learn and see what you actually have - Thanks Dave
