I find that the tyre pressures need to be topped up quite often, more so than on any other car I have ever had.Is it just me, or am I more aware of the pressures because of the auto checking system now available on the dash ?

Hmm. I've had the QQ for nearly 3 months now and covered 5000 miles, and despite checking the pressures weekly with a gauge (not totally trusting of the electronics) have only had to top up by 1psi all round, once.

A small volume tyre will lose air faster than a higher volume tyre.

I had Nitrogen put in when the AlloyGaytors were fitted, until I had two punctures I found that after 5.7k miles and almost seven months of driving not a single PSI drop in pressure at all. The claim from filling with Nitrogen is you lose approx. 1PSI over 12 months

Very interesting on inflating the tyres with nitrogen, I had never heard of this being done. I find that I need to inflate them at least once a month. I will keep a closer watch and record the results.

Hey jonceebee,
I assume only specialist garages have nitrogen, do you know?

Kwik fit do nitrogen , not sure about other places.....
It used to be a joke said one day they will charge us for air then the petrol stations found a wayThen the scientists came up with a better way, Ive never been convinced the cost is worth it myself, on steel rims maybe theres an arguement for less moisture/ possible rust issues but todays tyres dont last forever due to pot holes etcMind you im a guy that begrudges screenwash lol
