The handbook advises switching the tyres/wheels from front to back every 10,000 kilometres ( 6,250 miles) to get a more even wear. I did this on my last QQ and it still had the original tyres, with still lots left, when I traded it at about 35,000 kilometres ( 21,875 miles ). I cannot remember the brand of tyre on that 2010 QQ.

[quote="Quacker"] The Conti is a very good tacky or sticky tyre. The problem is that quality tyres that have rubber designed to hold the road better than average tends to have softer rubber that wears quicker.
If you want tyres that wear really well, at the expense of not gripping as well and probably being noisier, then a budget Korean or Indian brand is for you. Personally I tend to compromise somewhere in the middle and sometimes favour Michelin tyres, but I'm not really fussy. Let's put it this way, I'm willing to pay a premium over the better Eastern brands for Michelin when they are available.
Keep in mind that your use of the car has a large influence on tyre life. They will last much longer pounding up and down the M4 from Swindon to Carmarthen than if used mostly around Swindon town, and I do mean 'around' those roundabouts that infest Swindon.

Well I live in Swindon with those roundabouts and do Swindon-Bristol & back every day, Contis lasted almost 25k miles (5 punctures in first 15000 miles) but now have Kumho Ecsta Le Sports on for approximately the last 5000 miles, no problems so far, car 11 months old and has over 29k on it!
Kumhos from My tyres were £125 each delivered, £60 to balance, fit & dispose of old tyres

Kumho Ecsta Le Sports are good budget tyres - I actually used to run Kumho's on my Exige in the winter or wet weather. Really rate them.I'm on 10,000 miles (mostly motorway) and have 3-4mm of tread left so will be front/rearing them next weekend. Generally I'd expect 15 - 20k out of tyres on a FWD car that weights quite a bit.I generally replace all four when Costco have their £50 off 2 or £100 off 4 offers on and fit Michelins.

Conti's a bit cheaper at mo:iehttp://www.blackcircles.com/order/tyres?&width ... wintertyre If you buy via a cashback site, you'd save some more too. http://www.asdatyres.co.uk/225-45-19

Just shows what is possible with motorway or straight road driving.

Does it make a difference/matter if they are 92W or 96W as the prices seem to be quite different? They should be 96W shouldn't they?

Not a lot it would seem but I don't have the weight of the QQ to hand Load IndicesThe load-index figure imprinted on the sidewall of the tire denotes the maximum load capacity of a tire when driven at maximum speed. A list of load indices and maximum weights is give below:LikgLikg652909467066300956906730796710683159773069325987507033599775713451008007235510182573365102850743751038757538710490076400105925774121069507842510797579237108100080450135103081462110106082475111135083487112112084500113115085515114118086530115121587545116125088560117128589580118132090600119136091615 92630 93650

Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.
Hard to see where the logic is in settling for an inferior set of tyres on a car that costs £20k plus? Other brands might last longer and cost less but that can only be at the expense of basic safety. No doubt the braking distance will be twice the distance or the same at half the speed. We may accuse Nissan of being tight-fisted on so many things and yet they certainly don't compromise on the tyres nor should they - or you for that matter. Your choice of course.
