Right I've got a set of 16" alloys from mk1 qashqai on their way, winter tyres in the garage, last part of the puzzle is getting the right valves with the TPMS sensors.I saw the earlier post about them being on a German site, but even translated I couldn't figure it out, is there anywhere I can order the valves and sensors from?I'm trying to avoid using the main dealer in case they get 'funny' about me putting non standard wheels on it

John, I have checked again on our web and found the Same No. What I would recommend is go to your Dealer and Talk to the Stores Guy, what you are after you can find out without the Service or Sales Guy after all it is only an enquiry. At the end of the day it is your QQ but whether there is a Guarantee Problem I cannot say. For example here I wanted to fit our Juke 17" Platin P51 Alloys to the QQ but the Dealer and the Wheel Suppliers said that what we had, had no ABE which is a Type Approval for the QQ therefore they were illegal if fitted - Dave

John, you asked what ABE was it is "Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis". To cut things short this is a certificate that is issued by a Test Center that has tested a Manufacturers Product for Safety, Strength etc. This ABE paperwork has to be kept in the Car for Police or T£V (MOT) Checks, if it is not available you get a ticket. Basically you cannot install parts such as wheels, spoilers etc without an ABE, it is not like in the UK or US here Rules are Rules - Dave

John, I was at our Nissan Dealer today and spoke with the Stores Guy. He showed me the TPMS Box & the Nut / Cap (look at the Diags). This is the Nissan Info' : Sensor #40700-3VU0A @ a‚¬70,44 / Cap #40780-JA013 @ a‚¬2,15 prices are netto + Tax. This to me makes having the Winter Wheels a little on the expensive side - Hope this Helps Dave

70 Euros each? Ouch, but on the other hand a good set of 16" winter tyres cost me 480 including fitting, I can't see the 19" versions but a set of 4 summers is over 1000, so, I think especially in the longer run it will still be cheaper to do it this way. Thanks for your reply, I'll call the Nissan garage sometime and see how much they are here..

Ok, I now have a firm quote from my dealer for the sensor valves as follows-N407003VUOA Sensor unit @ £34.18 each plus VATN40780JA01B Nut @ £6.80 each plus VAT (Needed to secure valve to wheel)Total is £49.18 inc Vat per wheel.I will now go with Dunlop Sport 4D for the winter tyres. These will be 215/60 R17 to be correct on my 17" wheels.Good job I already have the wheels otherwise it would be a small fortune to do it all at once.

Can anyone answer my question regarding summer and winter tyres. In England we dont have the harsh winters we used to have.I drive on the same tyres all year round. No problems. Why spend unnecessary money on Winter tyres.I cant see the point
