I decided to share my experience. Last couple of weeks I have heard creaking sound from rear suspension. Today I visited dealer and they messed with it quite a long time and finally they said that I need new rear axle. The car is 1 year and 3 months old and 23k km covered so far. This is quite unbelievable. They removed shock absorbers, coil springs and then mechanic hold one end in fixed position and the other mechanic moved it up and down. It made creaking sound and moved more than it should. They haven't seen/heard it before. Anyway, waiting for a new part.

Might be of interest, just had very similar experience. My local dealer has just replaced the rear axle. My Qashqai is nearly three years old, with just over 20k miles. I like the car, but do wonder what the next issue might be. Out of warranty end of month.

That is why they are not confident to provide more than 3 years warranty.
Also, extended warranty has so many exclusions that is not worth the money.

Just had same diagnosis for my 3 year old and 2 months out of warranty, Nissan are supplying axle and covering 75% of cost of parts leaving me with a bill of £600.00 . Only had the car since January so hoping selling branch of well known used car dealership will contribute to cost. May have to take further action.

I wonder if this will become a recall issue in time?

My rear axle was out of alignment,. Confirmed by 2 hunter alignments and a body shop. Work colleagues daughter had a new axle replaced.

Just had my 66 plate Black Edition in the dealer's workshop today, due to "creaking" noise from rear. Replacement rear axle being ordered under warranty, at 7,000 miles. Not what you expect from one of the best selling cars on the road!

Taken a week, but finally been told that Nissan have authorised a rear axle replacement for my 66 plate Black Edition. Booked in for next Wednesday. Lost faith in the car and Nissan now though, so may well change it soon!

This only confirms to me that it's time to get rid before the warranty expires.
