QQ17, when we got our Kit I thought about dumping the Gunk & Compressor but then thought what if I decide to buy another QQ, so I kept these parts to Trade on. The Compressor can actually be used if and when needed in an emergency - Dave :)

Is there a standard size for a space saver spare? seen a few online and they vary from 125 to 145 width.

Beetroot42, if you look at what I posted on the Glyn Hopkins Ad (Page 1) you will see the Tyre Size used for the QQ Spare Wheel Kit it is stated as 145/90 R16 and this is the Kit that is recommended - Dave :)

Beetroot42, be careful it depends what you are looking for. There are a vast amount of 125 Tyres available on eBay for other manufacturers Ford, Mercedes, Toyota etc...... but these are not for the QQ Space Saver Spare - Dave ;)

It was an easy choice for me, I managed to convince my salesman to include a spare.

Why ?
About 10 years ago I had a "blow out" third lane of the M55 rear wheel luckily but it was definitely a "pass the clean boxers" moment. Got to the hard shoulder and 30 minutes later I was moving again. Bright sunshine.
Three years ago I had another, front wheel that time and much more traumatic for the body work but no damage to the steering or suspension (as I discovered later) again on my way efficiently. This time a pitch Black Country road with no mobile signal.

A tin of gunk would have been useless in both cases and the RAC uncontactable in the second case. I'm the only person I know who has had more than one "blow out"

I have decided I want a space saver spare (peace of mind). I did not get the option when I bought my QQ to get a spare. I was tempted to buy this one from ebay - but wheel size is 125 90 16 hence my previous question.

The SG petch Durham seller refuses to give any discount, even if I collect.

Beetroot42, this is a private Ad and correct it does mention 125 and it will fit a QQ. It appears to be for a Juke but will fit a QQ as the Wheel Bolt Fixing Holes Pitch, Dia etc... are all the same, but do not forget the QQ is a much bigger and heavier car than a Juke, hence the recommendation for the 145 - I could be wrong Dave :)

good point Dave. I just ordered the full kit from the Dealer, better to be right than wrong for just a few ££. thanks for your advice.

As we travel through Europe extensively I decided to get the spare wheel as a matter of course; it's certainly better to spend the money than be sitting waiting on a minor road in rural Poland waiting for recovery...........
