well not a good start with my new 2012 QQ.
pulled into the car park this morning and the handbrake doesn't work. lever just pulls all the way up with no sign of it doing anything.
had to leave it in gear as the car park is on a very slight slope.

is there anything i can physically check before taking it back into the garage?

2012 car is hardly new!
Get it back to suppliers to fix and this is a safety issue that could get you a ticket if stopped by Mr plod.

Try to make sure they don't fob you off by just tightening up the cables behind the handbrake lever. The correct way is to remove rear wheels and with a screwdriver poked through the hole in each drum, turn the cogwheel until handbrake binds, then back off a whisker.

to be honest it feels like either the cable has snapped or is disconnected completely.
pulling the lever there is no feeling that it is connected to anything.
