The info for my J10 states the rear tyres should be at 30psi when there are 3 or less passengers. This then goes to 38 if there are 3 or more. This seems like a big difference and I'm wondering what everyone does when you say go from 2 passengers to 4 passengers for a day or two.

I recently bought the new shape QQ in 1.5dci, I wrongly assumed the tyre pressures would be checked before I took delivery.
I’ve only done approx 300 Miles in it mostly motorway miles and the ride was just fine and comfy.
However I finally got round to checking them on Monday to find the rears were 38 and the fronts 36psi.
There is only ever two of us so I’ve now altered them to 30R and 33F as per the chart.
I’m using a non digital Champion gauge that I’ve had for years and always found reliable but I’m considering buying a more accurate digital type if anyone can recommend one.
Strangely on the Auto Express site they heartily recommend a PCL guage similar to mine the pen slider type.

Steven, for the amount of times you need to use a Tyre Gauge I use what is already there and costs zero, needs a bit more effort than a simple Snap On one though - plug in, lead etc.. OK a new gauge will not break the Bank but I found this perfectly satisfactory , air in, drive, check  - Dave :)

I have another one of those Dave, saves me going in the boot, it works well but I’m not convinced the guage is accurate.
Since we spoke last I reduced the pressures and just been for a ride, it showed 31 and 30 for the front and 28 for both rear tyres so I’ve just put a bit more in.
I’ll get it spot on at some point.

36psi all round, all the time. Cross rotate fronts to rear every 5k or so.

On my hilux, (2WD, alloy tray) 40 front, 32 rear.

As for the gauge. best I've ever seen: Michelin Vigil gauge
