Hello Duncho,

My disc is original and have 98.000km and mu mechanic said that I can make more 20.000-30.000km until need to change the disc .

The original brake pad was changed first at 83.000km with aftermarket one, and until now, not need to change.

I think that the driving style and the CVT brake motor help us to achieve this KM with original disc and brake pads.

Thanks so much for this info. Change pads loads in the past on various cars. Cracked on then realised the auto handbrake box wasn't allowing to wind back even with handbrake off and fluid cap off in engine bay. Panicked when I read needed computer to wind back. But removal of auto handbrake box, torx to wind it back, then a bit of pressure and the caliper wound right back in.phew. first side took 1hour second side 20 mins. Lol

Hey Pope, newbie to the forum and i recently bought a Qashqai with electronic parking brake and I need to do a rear pads job. You mention about, "removal of auto handbrake box, torx to wind it back". Do you need to unscrew this any specific way i.e clockwise or anti clockwise. and also do you unscrew all the way out or just a few turns?

Thanks any help would be great

Thanks for this, i have seen this video, but when it comes to the point im after, i cant tell if he full unscrews the thing or is he is going forwards and backwards.appreciate help tho

CCW = counter clockwise

Does anyone know if any android elm apps can wind back the epb motors? I have torque pro and car scanner pro and I can't find any option whatsoever.

Tried to do my discs and pads today to find the torx bolt were completely corroded so the motors are impossible to remove.

Edit:

I have looked around thoroughly and come to the conclusion a viable option looks to be a phone app called "Carista". Annoyingly my ELM offers little use but the official adaptor is not too expensive and allows for EPB service reset.
