Qashqai Model: Mk.1 Qashqai Facelift - J10b (2010–2013)

Good evening...

So I set about fitting new front pads on my Qashqai + 2 today, only to find the bottom floating, sprung part of the caliper carrier has seized. After trying to free it up with multiple sprays of Plus Gas and some gentle persuasion (with a heavy hammer) it still isn't budging.

Does anyone have a link to where I can get the correct replacement carrier? I've found a few online but can't be sure any are correct. Also, I expect the bank holiday is going to cause delivery issues. (I've emailed Euro Car Parts as I usually pick bits up from there but didn't manage to message them until after hours today)

Thanks..

Welcome to this forum.

For such a small part couldn't you use a Nissan dealer? At least you should get the right one then.

I’ve had pricing from my local Nissan dealer before for small parts and prices were crazy. Over £100 for a plastic wing mirror cover is one I remember and had some extortionate price for brake pads before too so I don’t bother asking them now.

I gave it another go this morning and got it freed up and everything working again now with new pads fitted so replacement part no longer required.

Apparently, Euro Car parts are the same company as https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/, even their web sites look similar.

https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/ are usually cheaper and you can pick up from the same store. I got my Activated charcoal pollen filter from them for £ 16.45

Its strange that looking for the pollen filter on both sites for my model of QQ, they only have one type of filter available, from the same manufacturer, but they are different specs & prices.

Nissan are known to be good for some items - at least some dealers - batteries for instance are much cheaper than Halfords.

I spent a long time trying to source a piece of piping for my MX-5's power steering - in the end I gave up and went to a dealer - and it was less than £10!
