I know the whole spare wheel/emergency gunk thing has been done to death and I think I've read every appropriate post but I'm still a bit confused

Will the spare wheel kit ie foam spacers, jack etc that I have in the current J10 comfortably fit into our J11 when we get it? I have a space saver wheel and would like to keep it, I think that the lower floor may be compromised a wee bit though but that's not a big issue. If it is suitable, it'll just be down to my conscience whether I take it out before getting rid of the old car.

And yes, in the 3 or 4 years of ownership we got 2 punctures, 1 of which would not have been fixable with a bottle of gunk!

Your'e likely best letting it go. Some specific to the J11 are sold on this site...you could periodically post a Wanted text. At least you get a newer jack and something that definitely fits the J11.

Turvey, you appear to be purchasing the older J11A model like ours (2014). When we purchased ours we were told that the “Kit” for the J10 was the same as the New J11 and we have that Kit. Take a look at the attached post it might help you.
Personally I would hang on to your “Spare Wheel Kit”, assess the problem then buy or sell when you get your QQ - Dave 😊

Thank you for your replies.

Seems like I've had a couple of 'senior' moments! Looks like I already asked this question about a month ago https://www.qashqaiforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8746 and in that post I state that we have a full-sized spare which we don't, just a space-saver.

I am inclined to keep the kit and wheel and hopefully the dealer won't ask about it.

Apologies for the duplicate question

Turvey, why are you worried about the Dealer. The Spare is yours and does not belong to Nissan but this was most likely part of the original Spec on the older J10 model, because it was removed on the J11 when introduced. Check it out not sure where you stand legally or just give it a try and trust your luck - Dave 🤫

Dave, my wife actually works for the dealer we're getting the car from!

I'll give you a wee bit of background. we live in Orkney, a small group of islands at the far north tip of Scotland(Pop. 20,000ish) nearest large dealers are 120 miles away in Inverness. Mrs Turvey works as a school transport escort, employed by a local company who also hire cars and have a small amount of cars for sale. They also source cars as well, and Mrs T asked them about finding a QQ for us.

The car we are buying is coming from Inverness, we actually saw it on the Inverness dealers website the day before Mrs T's boss sent her an email saying he had seen it in the flesh and thought it was a good car. Long story short, we're buying the car from Mrs T's boss, getting a good deal and they(Mrs T's boss) are taking the old one in PE.

We're guessing that they'll just take the old one away and pass it on through an auction 'down south' which would be fine BUT there's a chance that they might want to sell it up here which is where my conscience sets in. If it was a big dealer in a big town I wouldn't give two hoots but we obviously know the dealer and there's always the chance that we might know the next owner if it's sold up here. It kinda feels like we're not being totally honest with them BUT it's going to cost us the best bit of £200 to replace it all if we leave it in the car! We could just ask them what they are going to do with it but that seems a bit cheeky.

Just a small town problem I guess, I think we'll just remove it all from the car and see what happens.

Turvey, fully understood your problem and I think I would have similar thoughts but what a nice place to live in the Orkneys 👍 - Dave 😉

Cheers Dave, it's a nice place to live, admittedly it does have its disadvantages but on the whole there's nowhere else I would like to live.
