That's a good idea, maybe someone on the forum is changing a car; possibly selling a spare wheel and kit? will keep looking.kaylan731 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 12:34 pm I would say that's a bit over priced, although it is a genuine Nissan item and you do get the full kit and foam inserts.
It all depends what you need. I have just spent time researching for my spare and found prices for new from around £120 for just the wheel and tyre to £159 for same with a jack and wheel brace, neither options have the foam surround provided. Second hand you could find a bargain for around £60 on eBay for wheel and tyre if you are lucky. You just need to get on there and put in a search for what you want. Also look in the sales section on this forum.
Thanks

As has been illustrated the photo shows a 16" tyre, so it's likely to be a 16" they're selling. This is corroborated by the part number - KE4104E120 - which turns out to be a 16" wheel. Wise to check though.
This one's cheaper by a little - https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Nissan-Genuine-OE-KE4104E120/1750358754 - 122.95+89.95 = £212.90
Alternatively buy the kit without tyre and add a tyre from elsewhere - e.g. https://www.camskill.co.uk/m127b0s5413p0/Temporary_Spare_Tyres_-_Space_Saver_Tyres_-_16_inch_R16_inch_-_145_90_16_145_90R16 = £53.25
That would be 122.95+53.25 = £176.20 plus tyre fitting

When we bought our QQ we put together a Spare Wheel Kit with the help of our Dealer from “Scrapped” Nissan’s and the only Parts we had to purchase were the Styropor Side Parts from Glyn Hopkins UK. If you have time it might be worth looking around because the Kit was originally from the QQ J10 Model.

Just to update, My new 17inch Nissan full size Steel Rim arrived yesterday. Had the brand new tyre from my old Peugeot 3008 spare wheel fitted to it.
It fits in the wheel well perfectly with the existing side foam pieces. The Bose speaker drops in nicely and the existing retaining bolt fits without any extension. It is slightly higher so I cannot fit the soft cover, but the two hard covers fit without any problem. Now have a new full size spare rather than a jar of gunk. I asked the tyre company that fitted it about the repair gunk. They confirmed that it makes the temporary repaired tyre a scrapper as it can not have a proper repair done to it, as the liquid damages the inner surface of the tyre. Total cost including fitting around £85 but worth it for the peace of mind.

From what I have read, any spare 16 inch or 17 inch will fit and do the job, space saver or full size.
Nissan X-Trail appear to fit ok according to varies sources, and could be a cheap option if purchased second hand.
At the end of the day, if you have a puncture, any spare is better than no spare and certainly better than a bottle of gung which will make the tyre unrepairable, so you would then need to spend £100 plus to replace it .
If you do not have a sub woofer speaker in the boot a 16 inch wheel will be ok.
Its horses for courses depending how much you are prepared to spend. To me having a spare wheel gives peace of mind.
Don't forget you will need a wheel brace and jack as well.

I couldn't agree more, a spare wheel is a must have. I'm looking for two spare wheels (I'll explain) because my daughter bought a Nissan Qashqai 1.5, D a 2016 model with 17,inch wheels; just two weeks before I bought my 2018, model with 18, inch wheels. So, I'm making enquiries about using an X-Trail spare wheel kit that may become available in the next two weeks. I'm sure someone on this forum said the X-Trail Spare will fit the Qashqai?
