Hi all,

So, having a QQ Tekna, and wanting to have a space saver spare wheel, I got myself a X-Trail spare so that the subwoofer would sit level and not affect the lower boot floor - mission accomplished.

However, when I stood the wheel next to the standard ones, the difference was very noticeable - the space saver looked a lot bigger. It's also a bloody tight fit in the spare wheel well, and has to be lowered in bumper-end first.

I've used an online tyre comparison, and the space saver is 25mm taller over-all:

Is this OK? I know when I stood it next to the other wheel it looked massive, but I guess when fitted its 12.5mm bigger in each direction?

Thanks
Tim

Qashqai spare is 145/90/16. The xtrail wheel and tyre will actually show you going faster than you are.

The Qashqai spare isn't 100% the correct size rolling diameter, but as it's only to be used for a short distance

Thanks Noddy, I am not sure the speed reading will be affected with just 1 larger wheel, for emergency use?

It seems normal for the spare wheel to be smaller than the standard, as you mention for the standard QQ one.

I think I've convinced myself it's all fine, and won't foul the arch liner or anything, I'll need to do a trial fitment I think when the weather clears up.

Annoyingly, on eBay there are some spare wheels with a 155/80/R17 tyre, which would have been a very close match and have fitted more comfortably in the spare wheel well.

As so few have gone for the 17" spare, there hasn't been any advice available on whats best - but I can now say anybody else should not get a tyre as big as 155/90/R17 for a Qashqai if possible - the 155/80/R17 seems a better bet.

My 17" spare (with the sub in the middle) is 155/80/17 which is 0.7% smaller diameter than my 225/45/19 tyres. I bought it off eBay:

Hi Guys,
I'm new on here, not collecting my 2018, Qashqai 1.5, D until next Friday. Would you know what size wheels are on the vehicle? I would also like to buy a suitable spare wheel to fit in the compartment, help and recommendations appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Mostyn I have a 2018 QQ 1.5 diesel Tekna which have 19 inch wheels.
It depends which model you have what wheel size it will be.
The range is from 16 to 19 inch
After research I am getting a 17 inch spare so it will take the Bose sub woofer easier in the boot.
Apparently the 16 inch space saver spare is the Nissan recommendation but the S/W will not fit flush.
If you use the search facility on this forum there is lots of valuable advice and guidance

Mostyn, as Kaylan mentioned take a look at this post and you will see what I had to do to get the Sub-Woofer to fit in a 16” Nissan Emergency Wheel. I used this because we already had it and It does fit but you do lose some storage space - Dave 😏
