Hello All.
I'm just helping out a friend who unfortunately has an accident and managed to destroy two of their alloys.
the car is a 2011 with the J10 alloys and are 6.5Jx17 ET40
they have found a set of wheels on the ebay which are from a 2018 car.
I'm going to have a look at them today, however i think they are likely to be 7Jx17 ET40
they both use the same size tyre / Stud PCD and as far as i can see the only difference is in the RIM width of an additional 0.5 inches for the newer units.
the change makes no difference to the rolling diameter and there's plenty of room to accommodate the slightly wider rim.
just want to make sure my thinking is correct.
Cheers in advance..
replace 6.5Jx17 ET40 with 7Jx17 ET40

Welcome to this forum.
I'd confirm your analysis - the J10 seems always to have been fitted with 6.5 wheels whereas the J11 is generally 7.0 wheels.
Let's hope someone responds who's already done the switch.

https://konigwheels.com/wheel-info-tech/wheel-offsets-explained/ explains wheel offset. I wouldn't think going from 6.5J to 7J would make any difference, it is only about 10mm difference or 5mm either side of the offset.
