Nissan also use these,, note the raised stripe on the valve body, this is the tell tale between a normal valve and a valve with Tpms sensor on it, also if you've felt them the rubber ones dont move as much as the sensor is clamping it on the other side.

No - just ordinary plastic ones.

Most TPMS Valves Use Plastic Caps but there are some that actually have Ally Caps. If you take a look at the photo from Luka this appears to be one as it has a “Knurled” Form to help unscrewing - Dave 😊

Incidently Ally Caps can be used if grease is used internally on the Screw Thread / Seating O.Ring and Finger Tight No Wrenches. I have these on our QQ and have used them for over 10 years.

Those ally caps are known for seizing on then when attempted to remove the cap they snap the valve body, I'd chuck them ally caps in the bin and put plastic ones on when you have the ally valve stems

Lewis, Thanks for your comment, but as mentioned I have been using these for years when greased and finger tightened onto the internal O.Ring there is no problem. These have gone through the Nissan Dealership Service Depts also and “Never” had a seizure. Personally I think the Term is “Feel” when tightening “Do Not Overtighten” - Dave 👍

I've replaced the caps on my Ignis with orange aluminium ones. The garage pointed out the corrosion problem but I'd greased them prior to fitting. I must pop out and see how they are because for some reason I never have to pump the tyres up so they haven't been off for a while...

No - they're absolutely fine...

Gloucester, well well well you have the same situation. Honestly I have never had a problem and when we bought the new QQ I ordered a Box of Assorted Colored Ally Caps from PRC for peanuts and this is one of them on our QQ. As I mentioned before “Finger Tight” is enough until you feel the squashing of the O.Ring - Dave 😊

Sorry, I thought I would be smart and section one of these Ally Valve Caps just to show the “O” Ring at the Base for information, but I forgot to post them. Just add grease and tighten them “Finger Tight” until they bite on the “O” Ring and the job is done - Dave 🙂
