Hi guys, new member, just purchased a 2017 Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi Tenka 5 door hatchback, had to pick it up yesterday before dealers closed due to corona virus, my problem is that the low tyre pressure warning light is on, on reading the owners handbook it mentions the TPMS, on checking the tyre valves, the sensors aren't fitted, due to dealers not being open can't go back to them, so can somebody advise me on purchasing the tyre sensors or disabling the warning light, I purchased a FOONEE Tire Pressure Monitoring System for a ford for son that has it's own display unit that attaches to the windscreen, hhas anybody tried that, if so would that link into my cars system, all help and advice appreciated

How do you know they arent fitted ? You dont have to have metal valves to have tpms sensors fitted majority of nissans have rubber valve stems with a raised line on it symbolizing it's a tpms valve stems with a tpms sensor on the back inside the tyre so tyre fitters know they have to be cautious of the sensor

On you display you should be able to cycle through onto the tpms sensor screen and it will tell you what pressures are in each tyre, you have to drive it like half a mile for it to read the valves

thank you lewisbryant, the valves just look like normal valves so I could be wrong, have gone through the settings onto the sensor screen and it shows 33 psi front and 30 psi rear,so do I need to drive 1/2 mile for warning to go off?

33 and 30psi are whats stored in the system, you may want to check the tyre pressure before you go driving too make sure there correct, then restore the tyre pressures on the system and see how you get on then

Agree with Andy check the pressures first
33 front and 30 rear are the thresholds for the light to come on. The actual pressures appear at each wheel on the heads up display in between rev counter and speedo. If you scroll up or down through the menu you will land on the pressure screen and it should say "pressures will appear when driving" and a dash next to each wheel. Then they will start to appear by there corresponding wheel in the picture as you drive sometimes they pop up within seconds you know.

You can also go in to settings and the tyre pressure settings and change the thresholds and carry out a calibration yourself which will reset the light. You should only do the calibration after you have set the tyre pressures to the correct pressure

Hi guys, sorry to be a pain but checked tyre pressures at 8am this morning, now 6.50pm and just back from a 12 mile drive with speeds of 30/40 & 50, warning light still on, I did try calibrating by holding the button in but nothing appeared to be happening, bearing in mind that the tyre pressure gauge I have I have had for years so that may be out, it is the type just push onto the valve and it shows marks engraved on the barrel so during next run I might change the TPMS by increasing and decreasing the settings, in the meantime any other help and advice you can offer will be appreciated

checking all options, are the valve dust caps on the wheels a special king for TPMS, if so what do I look out for to see if the correct caps are fitted?

think it may be a fault with one of the sensors, so you may need to go to nissan garage to get them to replace or check the sensor for you
