Tyre Noise

Hi all,

I have a new (69 plate from January 2020) Acenta Premium which came with Contis all round on the 17" wheels. Although I'm a little hard of hearing I find the tyre roar to be particularly intrusive on this car, depending on road surface of course. Strangely my wife, who has normal hearing, insists she can't hear anything untoward or so she says. Is this a known issue with these wheels/tyres ? I'm assuming I have no choice but to wait until I wear them out and replace them with something different, but it's always wise to check ! NB the tyre pressures are correct according to both my hand-gauge and and the TPMS>

I'd say without any doubt its the quality (lack of) of most road surfaces in UK. Unwanted noise rejection in these cars is very good but road surfaces easily overcome that. I'm running 18" Michelins....production fit.

Biffo, this problem is always difficult to pin down because as you say you hear a problem but the wife does not and therefore generally different people have different opinions. I would be really happy if my Missus said she hears nothing
