Personally I don't feel anything through the brake pedal when the AH is activated, I do though have to depress the pedal quite hard, hard enough that sometimes I think that it has engaged only to feel the car either rolling forward or back, harder dab on the pedal and it's on.
If I was to disconnect the earth lead from the battery to see if I can do a possible reset with the AH and hopefully fix my strange occurrence with it not working on my driveway, will this cause any other issues?
I only ask as after fitting a new battery to my Jeep all sorts of warning lights flashed up on the dash, thankfully quickly cleared via a friends OBD reader though.

I've never been a believer in the supernatural and can only conclude that gradient is the determining factor here. The predecessor of auto hold in the J11 was hill start assist. This would only kick in when the gradient was greater than 3 degrees. I have no idea why your car appears to have some element of legacy leftover from HSA but it must be buried deep within the software or electronic components of your particular vehicle.

My 2020 QQ had got Auto Hold and Easy Hill Start (EHS) which to be honest is a bit hit and miss, I've been on slopes that exceed 3 degrees and it doesn't always activate.

As far as I can tell Easy Hill Start (EHS) ended about 2017 production. However, its detailed in my NConnecta handbook MAY 2017 (01). Auto Hold (AH) isn't but is installed on my car.

EHS spec amongst various Nissan documents varies for stated operating angles above 2 deg or 5 deg....inconsistent stuff. How they get to measure that consistently is quite a bother. Also the driver has about 2 secs to lift the car off from hill stop.

AH supersedes EHS and should operate at all vehicle angular states and makes sense....from 2017

I'm pretty sure the foot brake sinks on both PB and AH. Which in the case of AH stops (helps) me viewing the AH indicators lights at inappropriate times.

The problem reported here is somewhat perverse as the AH system appears to do the reverse of normal activity when the vehicle is at a couple of degrees around level?

I'm watching this thread with interest as I have 2019 with Auto Hold that basically holds every time, every angle, every direction THOUGH have seen it ONCE not engage whilst parked totally flat on my driveway.

Its was rather amusing that the world of electronics in terms of precision is not what might be thought. My whole working career in both analogue and digital systems sometimes attracted a particular comment...the 10% trade. The real time world that is, which is extremely dependant on A to D/D to A conversion with allied analogue devices/sensors. And we are not at Aviation/Weapon etc standards here.

Not so amusing when you think long on it.

The Auto Hold will switch off whenever the parking brake is applied. It will come back on when the parking brake is released.
The Auto Hold light, the one by the parking brake, will stay on though. It's normal.

Don’t like auto hold myself. When off you obv have hill hold assist anyway, when on I just felt it strains the clutch a little more when pulling away to deactivate it. Didn’t see the need for it tbh, same as stop start so that’s off too. Prob just me lol.
