I have a 2020 qashqai acenta premium which I have had for a couple of weeks and I am very impressed with it. Today I tried to connect my samsung phone via the android auto app but noticed the android auto icon has dissapeared from the screen on my nissan connect system I am stumped as to why. Could anyone help please. Thanks

Welcome to this forum.

I don't have experience of the new Nissan infotainment.

However on my current car I simply plug the phone in and the whole thing's automatic.

The Qashqai manual says:

Android AutoTM OPERATION
Unlock your phone’s screen before connecting your Android phone.
1. Connect your Android phone to USB connection port.
“USB (Universal Serial Bus) connection port and AUX (auxiliary) input jack” (page 2-21)
2. Depending on the setting, a Startup Information screen will appear. Touch [Yes] to use Android AutoTM.

Android Auto is great when it works but often 'plays up'.

Make sure you use the official samsung cable.

Also consider reinstalling AA so that any permissions issues get resolved too. I've also had to reinstall Waze at least once too.

On one occasion I was also guided through setup by Nissan CS when all the above failed.

Thanks for the replies. I am on holiday now but will try both options when I get back.

The cable is critical - most of mine don't work. I'm using a short non-Samsung one.

A lot of supposedly "fast charge" cables aren't in reality and I thin the problem is connected.

If I remember correctly the latest version of Android software (version 10 ?) somehow already contains android auto.
This information comes from The Memsahib, her google phone certainly has, although her 2019 Micra Tekna is not compatible
