Hi All,

I have a 2015 J11 1.5d and it has developed a problem with the climate control.

I had the AC regassed last year so fairly sure that it is ok.

The blower is increasing in speed when I turn it up and down mamually so seems ok, however the actual air coming out does not increase or decrease flow.

If I turn the teml up to 30° nothing happens nor if I turn it to low. It just maintains a trickle of coolish air.

From what I have read I am wondering if it is the heater resistor or interior temp sensor?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Ash

Within the HAC unit are 2 motor driven doors that control the blending of hot/cold air. Also a motorised door for external/recirc air. They are controlled by a number of sensors and user control/demand. The internal temp sensor is one of them. That sensor is fairly easy to get to for internal temperature sensing.

From what you say certain doors are mainly closed if the blower air cannot pass through. Hot and Cold closed? External maybe? Its an air flow inhibit anyway.

If you switch the A/C OFF and deselect AUTO. Turn Hot air up highest and warm engine. Switch recirc in/out....does that bring warm air through or is it same as you said above?

Welcome to this forum.

I can't add anything to calnorth's comprehensive response.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I switched the engine of and left it for a while, before returning and switching the AC off and turning the temp to max and everything seems normal again.

This is the second time it has happened though and I fear it may happen again.

It does sound like a sensor may be playing up?

Thanks again.

I think 4 sensors and add the User Controls which together control doors to direct air flow over the heater matrix and/or A/C evaporator. We can only guess without test equipment. There may be DTCs (error codes) present that need checking.

Ambient Air Temp is taken from up front of the car (radiator front). It shows the external temperature on the driver centre display...is it correct?

Thanks Calnorth,

The external temp is spot on.

Got the same issue with my Qashqai. Interested to know if and how you resolved the problem
