Qashqai Model: Mk.1 Qashqai - J10 (2006–2013)

Post by Scott2511 »

Hi All
Thanks for letting me join. I am after a bit of advice, I have a 2008 Qashqai and have fitted the towbar, now for the electrics. The towbar company told me its standard electrics and no need a relay to fitted just join wires together. However I see a lot of different information on the net of people fitting the relay.
Any advice would be grateful before I tackle it.
Thanks
Scott

There are certainly a few options that I don't know about. If its a trailer or simple caravan tow I suggest the simplest non relay version. Main requirement is to:

Disable the reversing sensors without causing an error. Probably a switch added to the dash.
Switch the Fog light ON/OFF which may need a relay/micro switch to divert power from the car rear to the trailer rear?

Look for any info about fuses since you are adding more light bulbs to the circuits. Don't think its an issue?

I don't have any circuit diagrams so can't advise much really. The systems with relay/electronic boxes I know nothing about since its all rather secretive.
