Hi all

When I inquired before purchasing the new Qashqai, I found little really concrete, detailed explanation about the new Connect system and especially compared to the old Connect system.

So here's to it.

Cheers
Niek

Niek, most of your Videos are very helpful when you need to learn the functions or want to modify your QQ. Please do not take this comment as a really bad critism because it is not it is more just a friendly comment. Watching the video again today I would like to ask your feelings of possibly changing the “Connect Language” from yours (Dutch / French / German 🤫) to English when explaining the system the reason being this Forum is UK based and it did get a bit confusing for me, but it again could be the Age Problem - Dave 😁🧐

You didn't got the part that French is the most exotic and romantic language?

Not taken as a bad comment at all mate, appreciate your feedback.
I hope my speech isn't too bad in English neither... sometimes I really have to search for words.
I forgotten a lot when I start to learn French some 20yrs back.

Didn't really thought that people would actually try to read the buttons on the screen though?
Or is it more about the speech recognition part? That wouldn't be as representative in English as I never use it that way.

Thanks again any ways, I definitely will keep it in mind! ;)

Niek, when I look at videos I try to understand the working that is being explained and that was where I got lost trying to follow the “Foreign Language”, but never the less something was learned - Dave 😉🙏

Thanks for the suggestion. If you want a “special request” on some feature, in the language of Shakespeare just name it

One tip to mention is that the TomTom maps can have requests to be updated. I have requested changes in the past few weeks, and on the online map, I can see the changes have been made. I don't know whether they're updated on the car maps, but I'll see if there is an update this weekend. The update tool is found here

https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articl ... e-reporter

This a link to the GB map !

I had to recently report to Nissan CS that their head unit update over wifi was not working as well as their PC based update software which did not 'see' any updates. However a full reset via the PC software did bring down the latest maps.

That's a typical TomTom feature that already existed on my very first TomTom One, what a big box it was
Had it "tuned" with a extra software so it served as small video player as well (for during stops etc of course)
And I had all those voices like Monty Python and Louis de Funès...
Stopped using it when one day, during the ride, the SD card fell out of the bottom
