Intelligent Cruise Control

Hi all,
I'm just getting used to my new QQ Tekna+, so far I'm loving it, except the ICC.

I don't like the steering assist, it feels unnatural to me, I've found the switch just under the dash that turns it off for the time that the cruise control is being used.
Is there a setting that I can turn it off permanently?
I'm also not to keen on the adaptive bit of the cruise control either, I was on a dual carriageway today and there was a lorry in the distance ( quite a way in the distance too) and the car slowed itself down to 50mph. Can this be turned off too so the cruise control can be used as just a 'normal' cruise control?

Regards, Chris.

I don't have experience of the system on the Qashqai but there should be a setting to vary the distance setting which might affect the situation you describe.

I can't remember whether you've got a manual or an auto - here's the manual version's instructions (from the handbook!):

ACTIVATING THE CONVENTIONAL
(FIXED SPEED) CRUISE CONTROL
MODE (manual transmission
vehicles)
NOTE
ICC provides no approach warnings, automatic
braking, or steering assist in the conventional
(fixed speed) cruise control mode.
To select the conventional (fixed speed) cruise control
mode, push and hold the ICC switch for longer
than approximately 1.5 seconds. For additional information,
refer to “Conventional (fixed speed)
cruise control mode (manual transmission
vehicles)” later in this section.

In fact the handbook goes on and on and on about CC and ICC - I suggest you read it thoroughly...

Steering assist:

Steering Assist switch
To turn the Steering Assist ON or OFF, push the
Steering Assist switch on the instrument panel.
NOTE
• Whenthe Steering Assist switch is used to turn
the system ON or OFF, the system remembers
the setting when the engine is restarted. The
switch must be pushed again to change the
setting to ON or OFF.

It also doesn't work if ICC is turned off...

Thanks for the reply gloucester,

It never crossed my mind to look in the main manual  , I'm still reading through the quick start booklet and I'd missed the very small note on page 32 about holding down the ICC switch.

Regards, Chris.
