Premium traffic

I have set up my android smartphone as a mobile hotspot so I can use premium traffic on my 2020 qashqai acenta premium. The problem is sometimes it says premium traffic on the map sometimes not. I have disconnected/reconnected my phone still the problem persists.Any ideas as to why this is please.

It is not an app,you just connect your smartphone to the nissanconnect system and use it as a wifi hotspot.

ok...there's a piece of software somewhere managing specific wifi data...I guess part of that is "Premium Traffic" which shows up in the USA as a Nissan offering. Not here?

I don't have your Nissan Connect Box so am assuming its pre-installed on your 2020 QQ and you subscribe somehow?

If its flakey in anyway I'd suspect its your wifi connection/phone or the traffic info supplier. Perhaps someone else here knows more?

It's just a service that goes alongside the default connect maps. If u connect ur phone as a wifi hotspot it can fetch these premium traffic messages free of charge.

I don't use this function, preferring to use Waze.

I have tried to connect my iPhone 8 as a hotspot to the Premium Traffic but it fails to connect.

I use my phone as a hotspot in other applications so know it works !!!!!!

On the Connect unit, delete the connection completely then add it back in.

It does mate but it is a p*********s, every time you start the car you need to accept a "data use" pop up... :roll:
