Pandjh wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2020 11:11 am Halfway down there's a link to the navshop - in the section 'get the map update application tool'.

btw, be prepare to be confused by the version numbering Nissan use - it makes zero sense.

In tha car it'll show up as one string, in the tool its another... and within the tool it'll show you one version number as being the version you have installed, tell you there are no updates yet show a different version number in the full map reset section.

To get the latest I recommend ONLY doing the full map reset - this is the ONLY way I was able to get the latest maps - the in-car update and the tool-based 'update' both failed to see any updates and ALWAYS said 'no updates available' - only the tool-based full reset worked - I did inform Nissan CS who acknowledged my email but have not responded in the many weeks since i sent it.

Phil
Thank you for the extra info.

** Update **

Sorry for the slow update to my thread, I've been ill for 2 weeks and spent just over a week in hospital ( not covid related )

I have done the 'full map reset' as suggested by Phil and I now have the latest map version installed.

It took approx 50 mins to download the new maps to the USB drive ( just under 17GB ) and 15 minutes to upload the updates to the satnav.

Version before update - GENO EUR 2017.12

Version after update - GENO EUR 2019.03

It makes you wonder why a 2020 QQ comes with maps that are 2 years out of date doesn't it.

Regards, Chris.

Good to hear it worked Chris and given the past tense re hospital it sounds like you're back home and better, or at least on the up. That's good to hear too.

The map update option in the car reports Update 5 as being available.

The full reset via the PC update tool describes it as version 2020.03 and is 16.74Gb in size for the 32 different updates available.

UK with Ireland is just over 2Gb and takes about 10 mins to install, which it does in 2 parts.

May try the full reset as well then.
I had it updated by USB a month an a half ago I think. Quite awkward is that I also lost all my settings on the satnav afterwards (bluetooth connections, language setting, widgets,...) really annoying.
And when I updated again recently I downloaden all the maps, installed it in the car and it took about 50mins to get installed. When I restarted the car, no rebooting as the first time but it gave an USB error. When I check the map version it gave me the 2017 version???

Did the full reset on the USB stick and reinstalled on the car. Only took about 12mins I guess and all works fine and I have the latest version now.
No settings were lost.
Maybe it was due to the fact I prepared the USB stick on the French setting and changed language afterwards for an English video...?
