Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

The headunit powered down during a full map reset, about 3/4s of the way through. If I try and retry by doing a fresh download of the full reset map, the head unit says cannot install the same version. However the map that is installed wont route to any destination. The map dispplays, but I suspect the route information didnt get loaded.

Is there a way to force a full refresh of the map ignoring what ever data is currently loaded?

This may need a trip to the dealers, I doubt a factory reset will resolve this.

Have now managed to do the following.

In the map tool on a PC, I uninstalled all maps, the car processed them, and left me with a blank map screen.

Then added back the UK maps using add regions. The map came back and I can search places and plan routes.

The problem now is the version is stuck at 2017 update 4.

If I put in the full reset USB, with 2019 map, then it says already installed! I reckon when the next update is released it will probably resolve it, but its seems strange that I cannot force a full refresh.

Look for the map version info from the head unit itself, it should be 15041_4_5.

Their version numbers are a mess.

Btw, nice thinking re the fix.

Someone here suffered similar a couple of months back. It required all regional maps removed and a reinstall of UK maps only. Indicated that Connect memory is not large enough to load all maps offered. Instead of providing a logical error I think the system simply died/hung on download/install.

The complication arose over no postcodes for S. Ireland and the latest downloaded map is approx 18 months old...I think? My memory fades slightly on this

Latest on this, I cannot delete all regional maps, Oceans and Ukraine seem to be left installed no matter how many times I try to delete them. I'll add the UK regions, and get the dealer to fix it when its in for a service. Unless anybody knows more.

Would the reset data in the diagnostics option help? It says erase all flash content, but then I'd be worried I need special tools to restore the functions?

I had problems with updates when I tried for Eircodes ( a bit like your postcodes, but each house or premises has a code unrelated to each other, even if neighbours ). The car as supplied gave me some Eircodes, much to the dealers surprise. On updating I lost this facility. The dealers knew less about satnav than my cat. I tried my luck with TomTom but they said that Nissan or their agents had "tweeked" the system. I will wait and see what the next map update brings. I did not have a problem downloading from car, eliminating most countries and just updating UK/Ireland.
