It seems that my Qashqai has developed a ‘sticky’ diesel injector.

Had a chat with a mechanic friend of a friend and his recommendation was to either change the diesel injector or try some injector cleaner.

He cleared the warning lights and they didn’t come back on for several months. Then they did.

Frankly I can’t afford to get the injector repaired so I tried injector cleaner again, and it works. Sort of.

Basically the car runs fine for a few weeks then the yellow management light comes on. If I manage to squirt some cleaner in the tank the yellow light will go off. However if I leave it too long the red light comes on. Sometimes the red light and yellow will go away. But this week they have stuck on.

I am thinking about buying an OBD2 for it so I can see what’s going on and maybe turn it off myself.

Any suggestions for a cheap, but effective OBD2 device that I can both scan and clear warnings with?

I use something like this along with an App on my Android Phone or Tablet. Y. Not always guaranteed to reset warning lights though.
