Hi
Not quite sure where to post this, but hoping somebody can help me.
When I bought the car I got the 3 year map share programme
I have a qashqai 2018 and just been to my Nissan dealership to get the latest map update.
It says V5 on the sd card, but when I check the map info I get sd2-GENJ_EU_G.A v4 Version 894476612
(I noticed on my previous card v4 sd card it had v3 showing in the map info)
Am I actually getting the latest map updates each time?
I've had nothing but hassle from this Nissan dealership each time I've requested the latest maps - it's like they are so reluctant in giving me them and only when I take it in for a service.
Any help would be appreciated.

this is something that's discussed on here regularly - a quick browse through the (excellent) search facility will give you loads of reading

or look up a guy called black rojer and private message him - apparently has the latest map versions (better then the dealer network seems to have) and people on here (not me) have successfully bought from him
or take a look on eBay

I did do a search but couldn't find anything that specifically answers my question although lots references regarding map updates from other sources.

I just wanted to add the following: When I recently visited my Nissan Service Centre for a minor recall to do with the child safety locks I was told that my maps had definitely been updated. However, before I went to Nissan Service Centre I took a photograph of the existing sd card in the car and then when I got home checked to see if I had actually received the map update and you guessed it the sd card was exactly the same. I was definitely told that my maps had been updated, but it was the same sd card. When I emailed the Nissan Service centre with the before and after photo's showing v4 they said it was a v4 card in v5 packaging. I just can't believe that they didn't notice it was the same v4 card. I then went back today and made sure I got a v5. as I said above map info I get is sd2-GENJ_EU_G.A v4 - confusing?

Yes the version numbers are confusing. And the maps are usually about a year or two out-of-date in any case.

The maps are for some mad reason misleadingly versioned. Maps are likely updated annually, so if its advertised as the latest...its about 12 months old depending when the map update took place and was purchased by Nissan and given to us.

I think what you have is as mine from last Feb.....

Does the SD card have to have Nissan maps on it?
E.g. are there more up to date maps that people are using that you can download?
