Hi all,

New to this so appreciate all your expert advice.

I have a Qashqai Tekna 2017. My Connect touchscreen is now completely unresponsive. I tried using the hidden menu to do screen test and recalibration but this did not resolve the issue as the screen is completely unresponsive to touch. It originally started with an out of sync screen which progressed to being completely “untouchable”. I also tried resetting the unit to no effect.

I took it to my local RAC garage and they have said the touch screen panel is broken and cannot be repaired and the whole unit will need to be replaced. They have quoted me a ridiculous £4.2k (Including VAT). Obviously I would never pay this. They have suggested I look for an off the shelf high spec one to replace it eg Kenwood and after googling I saw a few videos with some success which looked good! But in doing this I would loose some core functions eg 360 camera and parking assist. I don’t feel comfortable in removing functions I paid for. The garage also suggested buying a second hand Connect and but this will need to be programmed which I doubt very much the dealers will do!

I am asking for any support you can offer me to resolve this problem. Have any of you experienced this dead touch screen? How did you resolve it? Are there any specialist multimedia garage who could potentially resolve this issue via replacing circuits / panels and not charge me £4.2k!!!

Thanks guys

Eddy

Seen someone in here bought one offline and switched the screen over, there are places that do repair them, one being I think clarion or bosch centres

Always try SEARCH function first- am sure there are previous posts on this.

Thank you so much for the good information! I will definitely try searching for Bosch garages near me and if I get no joy I will try Clarion - I would not be overly comfortable removing the system myself and posting it to be repaired as I would probably break it although it’s a good last resort.

There have been a few similar posts but either resolved by doing it themselves by buying second hand or off the shelf or spending the £4K at shops for repair. Both of which I’m not going to do but thanks for the tip! 😊

If anyone else has any helpful suggestions please do post them!
