Automatic Wipers always on
Hi guys, took my 2016 tekna in for an MOT the other day and the automatic wipers now don’t seem to work anymore. When I set the stick to auto even with no rain they just stay on almost like I have it set at the first constant setting. I plan on phoning the garage on Monday but wondering if anyone has any ideas first.

Am sure OBD tools can't do that. Perhaps a Nissan CONSULT tool might? The latter being at a Nissan dealer.
However, the Body Control Module (BCM) and Light & Rain Sensor (LR) together play a part here. An AUTO selection should give one wipe when no rain present. And Stop
AUTO should stop either by driver selection or go LO speed on LR sensor fault. It appears that BCM is being informed that its raining constantly?
Diagnostics shows:
Front wiper does not stop
AUTO only faults:
• Combination switch
• BCM
• Light & rain sensor (LR)
• Harness between light & rain sensor and BCM
A fault reported by the LR sensor will cause BCM to default to a Fail Safe mode...which places AUTO function working in LO mode. Perhaps its this that you are seeing?
Note that the internal room lamp relay feeds power to the LR sensor. A 10A fuse.

are the wipers working at all even if not set to auto, guess you have tried starting the car wipers set to auto and pouring water all over the windscreen to see if they start working then ?Ubuydvd wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 8:34 pm Hi guys, took my 2016 tekna in for an MOT the other day and the automatic wipers now don’t seem to work anymore. This is very helpful. I’ll try and replace the fuse and see what happens. Thank you
