Had a new A/C condenser fitted yesterday, job took 2 hours. The old one had several leaks tale tell black marks from leaking fluid, most of which were behind the inter cooler so could not have been caused by stone damage. The new condenser looked a far more robust piece of kit than the one it replaced. I used a local company, who I had used before, and the air con is now nice and cold. The new condenser was £90 and the new type gas £135 :o

A couple of things he pointed out, under normal conditions, the system on cars looses about 10-15% per annum so should need servicing every 2-3 years and the best, most damage to condensers is caused by road salts when the road are iced during the winter in the UK and advice when washing the car, wash the condenser down as well to remove the salt deposits.

One other thing, there is a thread on bodywork section viewtopic.php?f=31&t=11082 If you have an auto, there is little or no room to fit the mesh, the intercooler is in the way.

Qashqai Owner, what does it feel like to be Cool again 😋 ? Just one relevant point I had the same comment regarding keeping the Condenser Area clean when ours was fitted way back on the J11A. I have and always use the Autowash Facility with Under Body Wash, it is surprising how clean the under body is for a few extra €’s here - enjoy the Coolness Dave 👍 🤗

Apparently my condenser clutch is knackered and needs replacing, I have just paid to have it regassed. I have been quoted £700 to have it renewed, is this about right or are they fleecing me.

Yes, sorry. Compressor clutch but I’m told it will be the whole compressor required.

Likely clutch part not from Nissan? But, replacement after market type shown here: (Pulley Assy + clutch it appears)

Needs checking as right part though.

Welcome to this forum.

Sorry I can't advise further - condensors often fail but I can't recall your issue happening to anyone previously.
