Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to assist with identifying this plug that looks like it's disconnected under the drivers side of the dash on my 2017 Qashqai J11?
It's just hanging but looks like it should plug into those pins but the cables don't seem to allow it to reach, just seems very odd as there's no faults showing on the car.
Thanks in advance.
What is this connector/plug?

Welcome to this forum.
I don't have a Qashqai presently so can't check against mine. Let's hope someone will lie in their footwell and peruse the spaghetti found there.

I'd have to say having looked at the picture I'm not sure what you think might be happening. The moulding on the left is a different shape from that connector hanging down. And surely the moulding is just a holder? It's not electrically equipped.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a better look this evening and see if I can get a better picture of the plug hanging down... I just thought it was rather odd to just be dangling and seems no way of stowing it

The moulding has 5 metal contacts and the plug has 5 wires?
The plug looks like it will fit, the grey part looks like a sliding retaining clip to hold it in place.

Thanks all, I'll see if I can get it to maneuver into place as the cables didn't seem long enough... wonder what it actually does as it doesn't actually seem to effect the car in any noticeable way?
I've yet to get out and attempt to get the plug in (waiting for little ones bedtime) but doing some searching and reading of the J11 workshop manuals it seems this plug/connecter is for the PTC Heater for anyone curious
Well, what a mission, plug was a good 10mm short for reaching the socket, then upon closer inspection the cable was pinned behind the clutch pedal plate (attached picture but it's hard to see). Managed to loosen the two bolts, cut a couple cable ties and give it a good yank and it pulled past the plate. Managed to connect it and lock it in (the grey bit lock it in place and fully seats it). It now feels like the A/C is a lot cooler or the climate control is just function better. Very odd but must have been like that since manufacture.
Thanks all for your help, much appreciated

OH! It goes up there !!!!! I was certainly misled by the first picture where I thought you were trying to put it on that side panel - I didn't realise it with at the top of the picture
