I've a 2021 J12 Tekna with the auto tailgate option.
On Saturday night the tailgate opened, but then wouldn't close (using fob or switch on cockpit). I had to manually force it shut to be able to secure the car.
Now completely unable to operate tailgate. Tried accessing power tailgate options on dashboard screen to disable and reset, but function is greyed out/unable to be selected.
Only other recent issue, which may not be related is I had "Key system failure" light appear last Wednesday. However not appeared since and car was used for 3 days before tailgate failed.
Nissan dealer (lookers) can't get car in for 2 weeks for repair

As the car is relatively new, I would not mess around with anything and wait till the dealer looks at it. Try reading the manual up to see if there is something you may have changed via the keyfob mistakenly.
J10, 2008, 1.6 petrol, Acenta
Forcing power tailgate struts is never good - only dealer attention will sort this

I don't know why people make comments like these. Go to literally any forum for any car manufacturer and you will find people reporting faults. Every car, every product ever made, has some faulty units. They usually make up a very very small percentage of the total manufactured - but places like forums are an echo chamber for the vocal minority who are unfortunate enough to get a faulty one.

There seems to be a significant number of faults occurring to J12s though.

Isn't that quite normal at the first series of a new model?

No worse than any other car. Better than many that sell for more money.gloucester wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:25 pm There seems to be a significant number of faults occurring to J12s though.
