Hello everyone,

I'm a new member here, although I have previously used this forum primarily to read through advice. I’m seeking some assistance and guidance regarding my 2011 J10 Nissan Qashqai Tekna 1.6 Petrol. I'll be relocating to France for a few years and will be bringing my car with me to import it there.

I need to adjust the HID Xenon headlights from right-hand drive (RHD) to left-hand drive (LHD). From what I've gathered through various online resources, as I believe there should be two screws located behind the headlights: one for vertical adjustment and the other for horizontal. In the 2 images I’ve included below, I've labelled what I believe to be the vertical adjustment screw as "A," since it seems easily accessible and likely primarily for vertical alignment.

However, I'm having difficulty locating the screw for horizontal adjustment. In the other image, I’ve marked its presumed location as "B." Could someone please confirm if this is indeed the correct location or guide me to where I can find the adjustment screw?

Thank you,
Steve

Sorry I cant help with the screw location, but the horizontal adjustment wont change it to be LHD. Even if you did get enough adjustment, it wouldnt change the beam pattern.

Hi,
Thanks for feedback, I always assumed with Xenon technology the lights had ability to switch lightning patterns when taking your car on the continent for example vacation, allowing change from RDH to LHD, as I’m sure many people do.

As, I know you can’t stick on the Eucolite’s stickers due to the heat Xenon’s give off, end up melting the stickers and the potential to overheat the lamps. Looking for replacement HID headlights are not cheap :(

I don't know specifics for the qashqai, but I know in previous cars when people have asked the question it's been a no, and replacement lamps were needed or iirc disassembly of the lamp to change something internally. I know after learning that people just risked the stick on things and we're fine but this is usually a short term holiday with not much real headlight use so long term I would definitely look at a better solution. Being a RHD country, you can find LHD parts cheap sometimes but you would still need to be very lucky for headlights as they aren't a cheap part.

Do try get a more definitive answer. If they are easily changeable by an adjuster then they should be the same part number as there would be no point putting that mechanism in and then making RHD and LHS variants.

Many thanks for the feedback and help, I really appreciated it.

Cheapest replacement LHD Xenon headlights I can get from Germany non Nissan original's will hit me about 500 euros for the pair. Even on the 2nd hand-market, the majority are standard Halogen ones for sale which are dirt cheap, but Xenons seem to be scarce.
