Hi All!

Just after some advise as to if my car is operating correctly.

When i select reverse, the 360/rear view camera is displayed, but as soon as i come out of reverse the 360/reverse camera turns off and the screen goes back to radio/phone/nav etc. My preferred (and what i think would be logical) behaviour would be when you come out of reverse, the 360 stays on and the rear camera changes to front camera as you are often still manoeuvring.

Is this normal behaviour and would there be anyway to change it?

Thank you.

The front camera only works when the front parking sensors are activated (actually, all the cameras are activated by any of the parking sensors, aren’t they ?)

What you describe is normal for Nissan and as far as I know it can not be changed.

Please excuse my ignorance as I'm coming from a bmw where the front and rear sensors where activated when reverse was selected, and stay active untill forward gear around 5mph where they switched off. Do you manually have to activate front parking sensors? Im guessing that would be the button on the lower dash buy fuel release?

The reverse camera yes, but 360/front camera no, as it logical to think you may still be manoeuvring and need the visibility.

Rear camera activates on engaging reverse.
Front camera (the door mirror cameras and the rear camera) activates when the front parking sensors detect an obstruction.

As for the front camera deactivating, in theory you are moving forward and looking through the windscreen.
I guess that is Nissan’s logic.
