We have to keep locking / unlocking the car whilst inside for it to recognise the key. Fob battery changed 8 months ago.

When I had a Freelander they used to change the batteries in the remotes as part of the service.

I can only recall having a problem once with a car and that was my Qashqai - I changed it and it was fine afterwards.

If you guys have problems with i-Key not being able to lock/unlock the car or even not been able to start the car.
Do the following, which will fix the issue:

1. Check the battery voltage and charge it if it shows less than 12.5V
2. Leave drivers door open
3. Disconnect car battery for 10 minutes
4. Reconnect the battery, make sure connecting the cable is rapid without wobbling battery contact causing sparks!
5. Using the Key Fob push in the start button to switch ignition on
6. Key Fob should now be sychronised and remotes should OPEN/CLOSE doors as usual
