J11 Battery charging system problem
Connect was showing incorrect voltage reading before update, which was 0.4 - 0.5V higher than in reality. I mentioned this somewhere on the forum in the past.

I have been keeping a check on the voltage for a while it is steadily decreasing. I do lots of decent trips, 100 miles, but the charging system never seems to boost the voltage at the end of the day.
The voltage this morning was 11.6v.
I managed to read the thread on the Nissanclub.cz site (after translation) and read that if you start the car with the bonnet open the charging system is by-passed. So I tried that this afternoon and it does work, only been for a short drive, 20ish miles, stayed charging at 14.5v all the way.
Just put my car in the garage at a healthy (ish) 12.3v, much better that before.
At least this is a work-around which I will use again when necessary to boost the battery voltage.

So my car is back today after 13 days at the dealers due to a non starting flat battery problem, again.
A new battery was fitted 3 months ago, (which made no difference) the car is 6 months old.
Apparently a software update should have been done a while back, and a 'brand new' software update was also installed.
This will put right the previously under charging that was affecting my car.
We will see..........

Each morning after the car has been sat on drive all night the Connect system is showing about 12.5v with the engine turned off, is this a healthy reading or should it be higher?
Also, can anyone tell me if the new Varta batteries on the 2019 cars are of the AGM variety? then I know what setting to put the C-TEK charger on Normal or AGM.
Thanks

12v is the minimal level and should not fall lower overnight. In practice I get drops to 11v and still get a start but that demonstrates pretty much the 10% game in electrics as regards precise specification figures. Below 11v indicates likely cell problems/failWeasel wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 8:01 am Each morning after the car has been sat on drive all night the Connect system is showing about 12.5v with the engine turned off, is this a healthy reading or should it be higher?

In my experience, an AGM battery would state it quite clearly.

It’s printed on the label, stating that it is EFB.

EFB is halfway between a normal battery and AGM one.
I'd play it safe and charge as per a normal battery.
