Well you live and learn. In 1973 I had to get seat belts fitted to my second car - a 1962 Beetle

I have never heard this noise because I press the start button after I have fastened my seatbelt.
Why would anyone start driving BEFORE their passengers have fastened their seatbelts ?
I can't believe folks are so keen to disable sensible safety systems.

by the way, if the noise is sounding because of heavy equipment sitting on the passenger seat, why not just plug the seat belt in, instead of disabling a safety feature ?

Or even use the seatbelt to try secure the object as it may become a hazzard ;)
