Retrofit satnav
Hi. I have managed to get my hands on a satnav unit from a right off 2014 car. I am intending to fit it to my car also a 2014 model in place of the standard fitted radio. I have been told that I will have to get it recoded by a Nissan dealer also that the cable harness will have to be replaced from the steering wheel to the unit. I would also like to fit the reversing camera in the near future. Has anybody tried this? If so any advice would be gratefully received. I know there have been comments on how bad the satnav is. Is this still true even with updates.

1. The new Nissan Connect LCN2 locked for car immobilizer. If you do not perform the unlock, the device will not work full. It will work with restrictions. 20 minutes and off. Unlocking can make the dealer. But not every dealer is able to do so. The dealer should know and be able to. This is possible when using Consult 3 (change SW). Or you just need to buy an pre-unlocked Connect. Prepared for sale. I only sell unlocked.
2. You will also need a mounting adapter. For installation in cars, where NOT previously was Nissan Connect. This will not change the wiring in the car. Using an adapter, you can install the new Connect in "lower complete" car. But you need a specialist car electrician.
The connectors are different. In your car no upper white socket, as Nissan Connect.
See the picture - http://www.fpro.aaanet.ru/connect/images/lcn2-6b.jpg
To top white connector mounting adapter is needed. I have a photo adapter. Later I'll show pict, if needed.
3. Yes, I sell the latest maps for this system. You can buy them from me cheaper than the dealer or on Ebay.

So, if I replace my connect system with an after market one and then sell my old set to another QQ owner, the old set will need unlocking in order to function properly in the new QQ?

Hi. What is the right procedure in order to unlock the unit ? I need the pin code or this can be done only with "consult" software ?
Do you have a picture of the adapter ?
My dealer say that is not problem, but he doen't' know the right procedure.
Please let me know.
Mario.
