Just had a call at 18.10 to confirm that fault is fixed. Picked up car and everything seems fine.

Warranty repair report - checked fuses and battery OK. Followed ESM fault finding and powered vehicle down to reset. Repowered and got error code U1000 can fault. Found no communication from lane camera. Check camera connections and wiring all OK. Internal defect. Replaced camera and set up with consult, removed all DTC's and tested, ok.

Camera Assy-L £1044.22 less 15% = £887.59
Labour £75.45
VAT £0.00
Total £963.04

U1000 - a CANBUS communication circuit error. That camera would be quite an expensive piece of car to replace if not under warranty!

Hope it's fully sorted now.

Just a shout out to Neo29. our friend in Belgium - the original poster in this thread. Have you taken the car to the dealer? Is your problem with the safety shield still occassional?

I have a new quashqai and I don’t think my forward collision is working even though I get no message to say it’s failed . I have tried to leave breaking till late to see if I get the first notification but get nothing

Its rather shocking pricewise as below is the camera. Ebay scrappy used for £95 - 2017 model. Am sure its Made in China as I saw it somewhere else from the rear. Mounted behind grille low down.

There's some Consult procedure: (diagnose/test/setup). Consult leads the way

X- Y axis and Rotate calibration
Image check

I don’t have any indication that my collision avoidance is working but I don’t think it is as I have tried to leave breaking as late as possible to prove it works but I get no alarm to say I need to break. Any one know how I can prove if it’s working or not

You cannot test it other than ram it into another vehicle. If its a new car take it to the dealer and ask them to demonstrate the function.
