The battery has died and RAC couldn't replace it, they said the replacement wasn't tall enough (they tried to fit this one - https://www.racshop.co.uk/rac002-premiu ... ttery.html )
The one which is fitted is original Japanese battery which seems to be a bit taller with terminals on the very top, the dimensions are roughly 270x170x200. Old vs RAC: http://prntscr.com/fgm0dy
All shops that I've checked so far recommend 096 battery with these dimensions: 278x175x190 which is exactly the same as the Rac's one. All of them also have terminals in pockets rather than on the top.

I am so confused, if 096 does not fit where do I get a replacement, couldn't find any hints in internet.
Surely I am not the first QQ owner facing this issue.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Are you sure you have posted the correct facts because the QQ J10 was first introduced in 2006 not 2000, so is the date wrong or is it another Nissan Model ? - Dave

In case someone faces same issue in the future - went to Halfords and they fitted standard 096 just fine. The wall with attached + connection is actually flexible and can be adjusted to be lower. Can't believe RAC engineer spent more than 1 hour and still failed to install it.
