Hi all,
I pick up my 1.6 CVT tekna soon. The dealer informed me that all models develop a fault with a sensor on the exhaust system at some point and it costs £700 to fix it. :?: :!:
As you are all familiar with the car can anyone shed a light on this or was he talking twaddle (nice word used)
Anything would be greatly received.
Many thanks in advance
Dave

Tell him you dont want a car that will break and cost £700 to fix as its too unreliable. See what he thinks of that. I bet he tries to tell you its not that bad.

What age / model is the car?

I have a 1.6 CVT Tekna, and have owned it for just over a year, and so far have had no fault on the sensor on the exhaust system. The car has done just over 18,000 miles!

The dealer sells ex-lease cars and drivescan X-trail. He said that all nissans develop this fault at some stage. He ciuld have just been trying to peddle his extended warranty

There are no sensors on the exhaust system that cost anything like £700 to replace. The sensors can be purchased for around £60 to £100 at most and fitting is only an hours labour if you can't do it yourself.
