Hello

I have a 2010 Qashqai Acenta.

Recently my only keyfob stopped working (couldn't lock/unlock the car using the buttons on keyfob). I bought a new battery but that didn't work. I took it to a key specialist who tried reprogramming the key which also didn't work. They thought it might be an issue with the receiver.

I can lock the drivers door manually by putting the key into the lock but this only locks the drivers door and not the 3 other doors plus the boot. Only the drivers door has a lock on it so at the moment I can't lock any other doors.

I can lock all the doors from inside The car when the doors are shut but it doesn't work from outside.

The key works in the ignition to start the car up so I don't understand why the central locking won't work when I manually lock the door from outside.

Has anyone got any ideas on what could have happened here and is there an easy fix?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have the same problem. I think I know why but not the solution.

Thanks

For anyone interested my mechanic put the computer on this today to try and locate the fault and it seems to have reset something. So the central locking is now working again! I did also speak to a Nissan technician today who said something about pressing the brake and the ignition button at the same time but never had a chance to try this out as the car is still at the MOT centre.

pressing stop/start button + brake pedal is also procedure if you are unable to open car remotely
and have to use physical key in door keyhole. Doing this causes alarm to trigger, until clutch depressed
+ brake pedal depressed.

Thanks for that. My issue was exactly the same issue as DazzaM1986 described however I actually rhink its linked to the ignition not just the fob. Never use the Ignition lock but had to when I picked the car up from valeter yesterday. Used key to unlock however there is only a minute window at which to remove the key between the off and lock position then I returned the switch to off. Anyway my feeling is that something in the ignition was confused for want of a better word as the fob then wouldnt lock the car. I could only lock the driver door with the key none of the other doors or boot. Anyway something seems to have reset the ignition when the computer was plugged in today.

I have another question. Without the key if someone were to steal the car would it run until the ignition is switched off or can the car only travel so far and then cutout?

Yes my problem is exactly the same as DazzaM1986 my QQ Tekna 2007 wont lock with either of my two keys have changed batteries on both and nothing. No sound of lock engaging or disengaging. I have keyless start but it isn’t a button but a knob you turn so can’t use the press break while pressing the start button solution. Do I’m guessing my only option is to get a mechanic to plug in a diagnostic computer. Unless anyone has any other suggestions. All help gratefully received;!p

Hi gyus
Since i m a newbie on the forum i want to greet you alland would like to share for the topic of central locking
Check to see if the steering wheel locks when you remove the key from the lock
If not there is the actuator that does not allow the central locking and i think is a matter of locksmith
My solution so far is .I disconnected the light from driver side door (removed the plug ) and before i leave the car close by central locking the car and then manually the driver door
Looking for more permanent solution
thanks

Right colour me stupid but here goes. Turns out there’s a button under the ignition and when you turn the engine off by rotating ignition anti-clockwise as far as it will go it is necessary in order to allow the central locking to engage, to press aforementioned button and then further rotate the ignition another quarter turn. After which the central locking will engage and disengage as directed to by the fob. This may not be a solution for anyone else here but if it is it was obviously worthwhile sharing despite the discomfort of my obvious embarrassment.
