Has anyone else had this. :?:
Car settings set to open door by pressing door buttons when i key in proximity.

Yesterday morning pressing door lock button, no unlocking occurred.
Got key out of pocket, pressed open button; completely dead.
Had this couple of times before.

Put that i key to one side, and tried my other one; door button or fob button completely dead too.

Had to remove key and open door old fashioned way, and after a minute or so (with alarm going off)
off holding fob against Stop/Start it suddenly recognised key.

Out of Guarantee so not wishing to ask dealer to look £into£ :!:

Are you convinced it's not the batteries? As they will both have had batteries at the same time probably, it's quite possible they have gone dead at the same time? I've just had this with mine. The C2032 button cells drop off really quick when they are getting exhausted. If not maybe you are getting interference from something. Are there any new wireless devices, doorbells, wifi routers etc. Try driving the car to another place and trying the keys there. Just a thought!

Does locking car with door button save battery use........ the dealer told me just keep your remote in your pocket no need to use it... That way car battery scans for remote on tekna models with no key

The key must be transmitting all the time, or at least sitting their receiving, so it will have a small battery drain 100% of the time. When mine went flat, I went to get my never-used spare and that was totally flat too even though it had been sat in a cupboard for 3 years. Looks like the OP had the same problem.

CR2032 batteries are cheap enough, just keep a couple in the glovebox.
