Sorry to jump on this late, I have read through the thread but a little confused. I have just bought a 68 plate QQ N-Connecta and the connect unit in it is the same as the one in my pulsar, but the background was blue not black. So it’ seems it’s a newer version but not new enough as in my fathers 19 plate QQ (with apple car play). Is there a way to upgrade to include CarPlay?!
Sorry if I’ve completely missed it in the thread but all the software versions confused me!

Hi, sorry to reply on a very old post.karhulitos wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 4:38 pmYes. Or as I see it:
- they screw it up OR
- NC just had a hw failure when they tried the update (yeah, right)
The NC up/radio on - NC up/radio silent - NC reboot behavior started roughly a month ago. First I thought it was my phone bluetooth caused it but unpairing didn't help (wife's iPhone still had connection established). As the reboot cycles continued, and I think radio on -cases became more rare, I told her to take it to the garage. After that we've only seen bootloader and update attempts. Garage said system failed, no warranty, no joy.
What can we say except to bite lip? Best case some 50/50 split deal. No way.
The story continues and today the unit was dismounted as I promised to my wife to peek inside to see if the failure (Update failed, COMMAND: script.lua:281 remoteExec) indeed was hardware related. And yes, it was. A chip, STA662 was burned and, according to the almighty Internet, it is responsible of radio and most audio tasks, and more importantly, is reprogrammable. Perfect root cause for the update failure.
Radio did fail before the whole box was bricked with garage's update attempt. So it wasn't shop's fault but the unit itself.
Albeit I can solder I couldn't even find or see any (home) means to replace the chip. So next step is: another unit from eBay.

I have an Xtrail (T32) with firmware version D010 (I know, vintage) and hardware version 31.
I have just joined but have read the whole Firmware thread, downloaded the firmware on page 44 and loaded it on a fully formatted FAT32 8GB USB drive. (4.5 GB free space left)
The update starts but fails after initializing.
At the start it says updatable data identified, onboard version is 010, media version is XXXX.
I would be grateful for help with the following questions:
Is hardware 31 working with firmware D605?
Why is the system not able to identify the firmware version on the USB drive (media version)?
Is this the reason why it fails? What can I do?
Do I need to take an intermediate step to get from 010 to 605?
Is it an issue that for the time being I do not have an SD card in the slot?
Thank you very much in advance for any hints to solving the issue.
