Sidelight not working after attemped LED install

Hi there,
I have just attempted to change the sidelights on my J10 360 to LED ones. I removed the passenger side one and replaced it with the LED bulb, put it back in and no light. So I removed it again, gave it a wiggle made sure it was seated correctly but it still would not work. I then put the original bulb back in and now that did not work either, As the LED bulb is made of aluminium, I guessed that it must have shorted the contacts out in the bulb holder, so I pulled every single fuse I could find from the box at the drivers knee area and the two in the engine bay. No blown fuse.

Is there another fuse box somewhere? Where is the side light fuse? Is there a fuse for each side, as the drivers side is still working?

Well Nissan were no help with this. They would not tell me where the fuse was or if there are fuses for each side. They just wanted me to book the car in.

Does the J10 have 2 fuse boxes, like the current models?
One in engine bay one behind glove box; look in your manual.

Both parking lights run from one fuse (#49), a 10A located in the IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module) under the bonnet. The fuse must still be ok as your offside light still works.

Have you tried a new incandescent bulb in case the old one has a break you can't see? Also (in case you didn't know) LED bulbs are usually polarity-sensitive; if one don't work, you rotate it 180 degrees to reverse its contacts and refit in the socket.

After much searching on the internet I managed to find a circuit diagram which shows both the side lights, rear lights and number plate lights all work off the same fuse, number 49 as pointed out by the previous poster.

On my car the wiring loom has a six inch extension going to the bulb holder. So as I had to wrestle with the holder to get it out, I did suspect that maybe I'd damaged it somehow. So I unclipped the loom at the extension join and tested with a voltmeter, but no current is present.

Hound, regards your useful IPDM graphic do you have one showing a legend on for the Fuse No's?

It turned out to be an I.M.E. (Idiot Mechanic Error)!

There are two pins in the end of the bulb holder that had bent out of place so that they we not locating in the plug correctly. I tried to bend them back and one snapped off. I realised that I could draw the contacts out from the bulb end of the holder and managed to straighten the bent pin up and solder the broken one back on. Fixed!

Gel, I don't think there's a version with legends but I expect I can identify the fuses from the wiring diagrams and make up the legends. Give me a day or two because I'm in the process of moving house!
