I see what you mean - option C is for where the horn's ground connection is via its mounting point, but the picture shows two feed wires.Pandjh wrote:Option C, the pictures didn't match the words...
Each PIAA horn apparently draws 2.7A and the horn fuse is 15A, so no problem there with a 5.4A draw - it's just the gauge of the OEM wiring that had me concerned, as it might get hot if it's less than 12 AWG. However, as the horn is rarely switched on constantly, and current draw is therefore momentary, it's most likely ok!
Good advice on the crimping set - I bought one from Aldi many years ago and it will probably outlive me...

I have the PIAA Slender dual horns, attempting to fit to a qashqai 2017
Just to ask, no one has fitted a relay on this setup going from one horn to two horns?
Also negative - cables go to the horn not the chassis of the car?, have to admit the instructions are crap for the PIAA horns.
From looking at the PDF Instructions it seems the top Connector on the horn is the positive, so you have to connect positive there, would not have taken much to put symbols near the connectors however.
My fitting instructions came in Japanese!

Yesterday, I also decided for quick replacement of stock horn.
Some photos from istallation attached.
Stock horn 94.9 dB /2m
Triple tone 107.5 dB /2m

Those pics look excellent. I have a 2017 facelift Tekna, and want a simple 'plug-and-play' upgrade twin horn. I don't want to have to add relays or wiring. Your installation looks like it has gone straight into the original horn mounting. Can you tell me what horns you fitted, and wether they simply both plugged into the original wiring? Thanks!
@lapalmeraie: Thank you
@Yannis: I measured the power consumption of stock horn and then power consumption of new horn twins. In total the power consumption of all three horns connected in parallel did not exceed 11A if I remember well, so there was no need to add the relay. I also measured loss of voltage on wires while engine was running i.e. battery [V] - horns [V] which was also fine and no risk of getting existing wires overloaded.
Here are the horns I bought.
