Jon, they were a nice find and as you mentioned extremely thin @ 1.56" much slimmer than our Hella's, they should fit almost anywhere. I think you correct also regarding the sound the Hella's are 300/500Hz (118dB(A) and yours are 400/500 Hz. Good info' for the future - Thanks Dave :)

Hi , I replaced my crappy QQ horn last weekend and I am very happy with the end result.

I removed the original horn from where it was placed. On looking at the space , I decided not to
try and fit the new horns in the same spot.

The new spot was just near the RH bonnet hinge.

Will post some pics when I tidy the wiring.

Peter ;)

Hi

I know this thread is a bit old, but after picking up my new QQ a couple of weeks ago decided the horn must be replaced as the original is completely naff and embarrassing, it is even more puny than the horn on my wife's Hyundai i10. So thanks to this brilliant forum and looking through this thread, I purchased a set of PIAA slim line sports horns as recommended by QQ1234 and have fitted them today, and "WOW" what a difference, a proper horn now. I have to thank QQ1234 big time, because without his photos about wiring and fitting I think I would have given the job up. It was tricky, but made up a bracket, and after a lot of tweaking, hey presto the horns fitted like a glove. The wiring part was pretty easy. Can't wait to come across my first numpty driver now and give him/her a blast of my twin tones!

Hi. Yes indeed it is. The PIAA twin tone horns I have fitted sound like that. I will try and record the sound and post on here for you later. Firstly I have to give the car a good wash having just returned to East Sussex from Scotland and put 1800 miles on the clock!

Na, I think mine sounds more like the Audi's than the other clip you have found on you tube. These you tube links are my PIAA Slim Profile Two Tone Sports Horn that I have fitted to my Qashqai. Excuse the poor video pictures, but had my 10 year old daughter as horn assistant and camera person!

Hope the links work as not too good with this technology.

I have just completed this using 2 clam shell style horns.
Job took approx 30 mins and requires very few tools.
The original bracket was retained and un modified

I took several pictures if anyone would like to see what is involved

Horn is much improved , but not the tone / volume I was hoping for , so it would pay to shop around.

I did try a pair of Lucas Snail type horns , but there is not much space , and extra brackets would be required.
