Thanks, Bill. I’ll update on here when mine’s been attended to. I have assumed it’s the IEB they’re going to sort out when the QQ is in for its service 🤷🏻‍♂️
dafman wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2019 11:40 am Hi Sandgrounder, I had exactly the same message Yesterday so popped to local dealership to check it out, guess what they know nothing about it.
Mine has been into dealership and had the radar sensor behind the grill badge replaced and the software updated because mine did not work at all.
The dealership are going to contact Nissan to find out about it, will keep you updated. Bill

If my QQ hadn’t been booked in for a service this week, I’d probably be none the wiser about the recall until a later date. Perhaps it was good timing on my part :?

A text message, or an email, with a notification to check the You+Nissan website for new messages should be relatively straightforward to organise, I would imagine.

How many people regularly check the Nissan website for recall notices? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have the same recall notice for IEB on the YOU+Nissan website along with a Body Control Module recall, it really doesn't give you confidence in the dealer network when they don't contact you to let you know about the recalls.

The Main Dealers can see all the relevant recall information on their computer system ( parts guy at Pontefract showed me ) as soon as it is released by Nissan, but contacting you would seem like too much trouble.
Sandgrounder wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2019 11:16 am I've just had two texts from my Nissan dealership. One to remind me about my QQ's 2nd service, the second text just says my QQ is booked in for "Other".

I just logged onto the Nissan.co.uk website and there is one Recall Alert relating to the Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) on my Qashqai. It's a pity Nissan didn't email me to say there's a new message waiting for me to view on their website, although sometimes they will send a letter in the post. :?

I've mentioned before that the IEB activates randomly for no reason when there are no other cars present on the road - particularly on sharp bends or if there is a road sign it thinks is a car. :|

Had the QQ serviced today. There were no recalls outstanding which required attention. The “other”, referred to in the text message I received the other day, was for the Mapping SD card - I now have V4 installed.

So, even though Nissan say there is a recall for IEB on your vehicle, the dealer said there were no outstanding recalls for your vehicle?

Spot on, Weasel! I mentioned about the Recall Alert on the You+Nissan website but nothing was present on the dealership’s system. I’ll probably get a letter in the post tomorrow asking me to take my QQ in ASAP, knowing my luck! ;)

WOW... I would imagine I'll be receiving the same level of service.

Weasel / Sandgrounder, here is what is posted on the Gov UK Checklist if this helps. On our German “You+Nissan” there are no comments. Naturally this could only be a Nissan Pre-Cautionary Recall but the fact remains there should be documentation to back this up if the Customer is concerned and asks - Dave 😏

Thanks Dave, I didn't know that government site existed. I checked my car (year 67) by reg number and no recalls exist. Yet the year 2017 has 3 recalls affecting about 19,000 (thousand) vehicles and all safety related...2 ref indicators and 1 gross combination weight on door sticker.

The majority of recalls are the BCM fault as above at 10,791 (Bingo...safety related software testing?)

oh...and crap capacitors (fan motor controller) on 2018 models

Hello.
I got same message and phoned dealer.
They'd not a clue.
Customer service said it looks like it's a recall ready to happen imminently.
Not yet though.
Dealer was not lying about it looks like.
