The last software update to mine was late 2019, has there been some since?

Mine was early 2020 at Major Service (N-Connecta 67 plate). I don't know what it entailed...actual braking and/or target detection. I now see, and seldom, odd alerts and dings but i need to be above a specific speed.

However, ad hoc "brakes on" is dangerous and I'm not sure yet if thats fixed. Not that I had it before....

Wow, this issue sounds like a real concern. It seems worse for the system to slam on the brakes for no reason than for the system to fail to work. It could cause a serious accident.

Just going through the process of purchasing a Tekna registered in March 2019 (Nissan Intelligent Choice/Approved vehicle). It's for my wife and baby will also be onboard most of the time. I'm not sure how she would react to something like this happening - not to mention the risk of it causing a collision.

Is there a way of telling whether this particular vehicle might be affected? I feel it might be a good idea to raise this with the dealership before taking ownership - any advice on how to approach and what specifically to ask them to do? I don't usually mind if every module in the car isn't running the latest software version so long as there's no issue evident, but this seems to be a particularly dangerous bug and it would only take one occurrence to cause a very serious accident.

Was on the A1M this morning driving through roadworks and mine was flashing for about 15 minutes ( the small warning one in the right binical not the main center one ) and I was dreading the car slamming on as I had an HGV tailgating me.

I believe you can turn it off in the driver aid settings if that is any consolation, but not sure if you have to do every time you use the car.

It resets after every ignition cycle.

Since I had the latest update to mine last summer, it's been hugely better, and I'm no longer worried about driving the car - I think they finally got it sorted!

Based on your signature it looks like you have a similar spec car to the one I'll be picking up - so perhaps it is potentially affected. Do you know which updates they applied, or which modules/units were updated?

Sorry no idea... they just told me the radar had an update available. 2019 Tekna 140HP Petrol, but I imagine the radar is common across the range for that year. I seem to recall a 2018 (1.2l engine) used a different radar.

Mines in on Thursday for this fault, I've been turning it off for the past couple of weeks.
I want a invoice or report that tells me what they have done in case it does it again and someone goes into the back of me, at least a solicitor will know who to claim off wether it be Nissan or the dealership.
Personally I would like it turned off permanently as I have zero faith in it now .
At least this dealership admitted they have had a few qashqais with this fault

Well I've asked the dealership to check whether the radar and associated modules have been updated within the past 12 months. If not then I've asked them to check and update them - and provide a work order to show what has been done. Given the car is for my wife and baby will be onboard I don't think this is an unreasonable request. Having this issue occur once could be one time too many - so don't really want to wait for that and then have to take back for resolution under warranty etc etc.

Hopefully they'll accommodate this request.
